NEWS: FUNKY TOWN 1.0 - UP AND RUNNING BUT GETTING RESET

As you all probably know, Funky Town has been up and running Minecraft 1.0.0 for a while now. However, Funky Town is getting a clean, fresh, new start soon. Yup, we are resetting. There is currently a spawn building contest going on, with 12 teams who are competing to build the best new spawn area for the new Funky Town. When all the contestants are done, the whole Funky Town community will get together, look at the completed spawn contest entries, and vote on which spawn is the best. That spawn will be built in the new Funky Town map. Stick around for more news about the reset, future Funky Town updates, and the spawn building contest!

NEWS: MINECRAFT 1.0.0 OUT, BUT FUNKY TOWN STILL RUNNING BETA 1.8.1!

As you all probably know, the full release of Minecraft just came out on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011! It is such an amazing update, but our favorite server, Funky Town, is still running Beta 1.8.1. "I can send anyone who needs a copy of 1.8.1 jar if anyone needs it, with instructions. For PC's only. Email me at mcbaltimore@gmail.com," says elyzabaltimore, server op. But why is Funky Town still running 1.8.1? Server op tman0 says this: "We will not be updating (read: can't) until Bukkit releases a recommended build or generally stable build.

Unfortunately...

@CraftBukkit: The whole team is flying back all of tomorrow, we won't likely be able to finish the update for a couple days. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So, looks like Funky Town will be staying on 1.8.1 for now. But that's fine! Remember, Funky Town is the best server!

NEWS: FUNKY TOWN INTRODUCES FACTIONS!

Yesterday, October 16, 2011, Nukeade, the server owner, installed a new plugin called Factions! This plugin lets you create a faction (group), change its name and description, invite players to it, and more! These factions can be used to make PvP teams, promote shops and businesses, etc. The owner of a faction can decide whether the faction is peaceful or not. To learn more about factions, go on Funky Town (IP: meatwad.phys.cmu.edu) and type this in the chat window: /f help <page number, 1-9>.

STATISTICAN REINSTALLED!

Recently, a plugin called Statistican has broken on Funky Town. Well, good news - Nukeade, the server owner, installed a new version of it so now the plugin is back up and running! CLICK HERE to see the Statistican page on Funky Town's website!

NEWS: MAP RESET! SAY HELLO TO A NEW FUNKY TOWN.

The map for Funky Town has been reset! It is completely new. However, spawn, the rules building, and one city have already been made. The new map is great. I absolutely LOVE the new city, ViperVille by Viper3X! It is awesome. But you can still get to the old world by typing /mvtp oldworld into the chat console. Please hop on to see the new map. NEWS: WHAT IS GOING ON WITH FUNKY TOWN?

Our favorite server, Funky Town Reborn, has been having some changes in plans lately. The map will not be reset for Beta 1.8, for we are waiting until Beta 1.9 to reset because of new biome codes, new biomes, etc. So right now we are sticking with the current map, which is Season 2 (Funky Town 3). Remember, choose Funky Town Reborn (meatwad.phys.cmu.edu:25565). :)

ELY AND KEYES' BIG DAY!

A Funky Town Reborn admin, elyzabaltimore, and a regular payer, JKeyes001, are getting "married" in Minecraft! The "wedding" will take place in Funky Town Reborn (no confirmed wedding date yet) at the pagoda (/warp pagoda). I think the pagoda is an absolutely beautiful and wonderful creation. Also, I was chosen to be the priest for the wedding! I am very excited for it. See ya there! ;)

NEWS: OFFICIAL PLANS FOR FUNKY TOWN 1.8!

ADVENTURE UPDATE PART 1 HAS BEEN RELEASED!

Minecraft 1.8, or the "Minecraft Adventure Update Part 1" has finally been released! Many users of Minecraft love it. It is very fun in my opinion, and I think the best thing about the update is the new Endermen mob. They are 3 block high black figures with purple eyes! If you look at them, they will teleport closer and closer to you until they finally kill you. The Endermen can also move blocks. This update is the best one yet!

Why Hasn't The Funky News Been Out Lately?

Some of you may be wondering why the Funky News hasn't been out lately. Honestly, I completely forgot about it and I don't have time to release it every week. Sorry!! So, I have a new way of doing the Funky News. I am only going to release it when there is actually news to be reported. So whenever something happens in Funky Town that is newsworthy, I will post it. That will be the Funky News. In fact, there is actually news right now. So, Funky Town-ers, I present the Funky News Issue #2!! :)

NEWS: SERVER MAP RESET...AGAIN!

Yes, Funky Town Reborn is getting yet ANOTHER map reset! This time it is for the release of the Minecraft Adventure Update. Many new natural things, such as abandoned mine shafts and villages, will spawn in the world. However, the old map from July-September 2011 will be accessible still so players can get their old items, use their old creations, etc. This update is bound to be the best one yet!

Hey guys! Cheez here. So, I decided to start a series of newspaper posts called the "Funky News." It will keep you up to date on all things Funky Town Reborn! Well, I hope you enjoy the newspaper!

ISSUE #1 - AUG. 24, 2011

COVER STORY: SERVER MAP RESET

In late July 2011, the server map got a reset. Many people were happy, but others weren't. But now everyone seems content in the new map, for the community is building back up. It was definitely great to see everyone again after the server had been down for a while. Funky Town Reborn currently has many new shops, homes, and cities. I think that resetting the map was a good idea. The old map, even though we all loved it, was getting too crowded, thus making it lag. So even though we do miss the old map, the new one is still great. :)

SERVER MAP ROLLBACK

On account of Nukeade losing power, the server map has been rolled back to the map from Aug. 16, 2011. This rollback took place on Aug. 19, 2011. Many people are disappointed because of this, but they are already rebuilding everything that was lost in the rollback. The good news is that no one's statistics, warps, or lots were changed or taken away. Just the physical appearance of the map got rolled back.

NEW ADMIN

Funky Town Reborn has recently gotten a new admin. His name is blckdrgn881. He is a great admin, and I can tell that he loves being one. I have seen that the whole Funky Town community likes him because he is a great person and he is very friendly. He is a great addition to the list of admins on the server.
